Our Heritage
Founded in 1952 as part of the ICI Wilton Recreation Club, Wilton Golf Club has a proud and established history. The original nine-hole course, designed by J. F. S. Morrison, opened in 1954 overlooking Wilton Castle.
The Club quickly grew in reputation, hosting an exhibition match in 1957 featuring Henry Cotton. The course was extended to 18 holes in 1966, followed by a new clubhouse in 1967. By 1974, membership had surpassed 1,000, reflecting its growing popularity.
A purpose-built clubhouse followed in 1979 and has been regularly improved since. In 1999, the Club became member-owned, securing its future as a thriving community club.
